Akashdeep Singh

Co-founder and Director

Akashdeep Singh is the Director and Co-Founder of Watch Dog Security Services, where he leads the company's strategic growth, operational planning, training standards, and client relationships. With a career built on frontline public safety and security operations, he has developed a reputation for professionalism, sound judgment, and practical leadership in high-pressure environments.

Before founding Watch Dog Security Services, Akashdeep served as a Police Constable with the Edmonton Police Service, where he enforced the Criminal Code of Canada and provincial legislation while responding to a wide range of dynamic incidents. His law enforcement career provided extensive experience at a young age in criminal investigations, emergency response, conflict resolution, and public safety, while reinforcing the importance of accountability, professionalism, and decisive leadership.

Throughout his policing career, Akashdeep received advanced training in use-of-force decision-making, defensive tactics, firearms, baton, OC spray, and TASER deployment. He regularly responded to domestic disputes, mental health crises, weapons complaints, and other high-risk incidents, developing a strong ability to assess threats, de-escalate volatile situations, and make critical decisions under pressure.

These firsthand experiences inspired him to co-found Watch Dog Security Services after recognizing significant training gaps and inconsistent standards within the private security industry. His vision was to build a company that emphasizes operational readiness, professionalism, accountability, and continuous training while preparing security professionals for the realities they face in the field.

As Director, Akashdeep oversees the company's operations, staff development, training programs, and long-term strategic direction. He works closely with clients to deliver tailored security solutions while ensuring every member of the Watch Dog team upholds the high standards of professionalism, preparedness, and service the company is built upon.

A graduate of NAIT with a background in Business Management, Akashdeep combines practical operational experience with strong business leadership to guide the company's continued growth. His commitment to integrity, training, and client-focused service continues to shape Watch Dog Security Services as a trusted provider of professional security solutions.

Muhammad Ahsan entered this industry the same way most guards do: on a post, in uniform, learning the job one shift at a time. Today, he is the Director and Co-Founder of Watch Dog Security Services.

He started in security while completing a degree in pharmacology research, which taught him to work a problem methodically and explain his findings clearly — habits that show up today in how his guards document an incident. Much of his early experience came in a fast-paced retail mall, responding to domestic disputes, physical disturbances, medical emergencies, shoplifting, and assaults, often with the public watching and little time to deliberate. Volunteering with vulnerable populations shaped how he approaches the work: many of the people a guard meets on a difficult call aren't threats, they're in crisis. Recognizing the difference is what separates a situation that ends quietly from one that ends in an injury or a liability.

He currently works as a Peace Officer, a role carrying formal training in control tactics, crisis intervention, criminal and provincial law, and mental health response — along with real accountability for use-of-force decisions and reports that have to hold up after the fact. That is the standard he brings back to his own team.

Years in the field showed him the same failure repeating: guards placed on site with minimal training and no support, while clients absorb the consequences. He and his co-owner built this company to do it properly — hire selectively, train to a real standard, look after our guards so they stay, and give clients reporting they can actually use. We serve retail, healthcare, construction, event, and residential sites across Edmonton.
